ACCOUNTANTS
By: DYLAN W

Everyone loves money! Accountants get to deal with money and numbers every day. It is also #21 on the U.S. News Best Jobs list for 2012.

Accountants have many job responsibilities. Some help people or companies keep track of their money and analyze how they can make more. Some accountants are auditors and check business’s accounts and make reports about them. There are accountants who focus on taxes and some work for the government.

Most accountants have a college degree in accounting. It takes about four years to get this degree. Then they have to work 150 hours and can take a test to be a Certified Public Accountant to make more money.

Accountants are needed in the job world. They can make up to $100,000 a year but some work more than 40 hours a week during tax season. Accountants should also be able to write well because they have to write reports and tell people about their money. They have to study even after college because the laws are always changing. Being an accountant is a job that I would be interested in doing one day and help people with their money.
