In this career you will investigate, and describe causes of diseases. You will discover how diseases spread. You will also study different diseases, illnesses and much, much more! You are going to stop many bad diseases from happening. You will also be able to control diseases from spreading. You also track progress of most infectious diseases.
In this career you will need a lot of college and degrees. A PH.D and Medical degree will be needed for this career. You will also need to take college algebra. Most Epidemiologists will also have to conduct data analysis surveys. You will also be using research methods, and mathematical statistics.
In this career math is used in many different ways… here is how math is used as an Epidemiologist Career: They use mathematical models to track progress of many infectious diseases. Some of the diseases they may track are measles, mumps, and rubella. They also monitor the spread of control or infection, strain structures and interactions.
Here are some other interesting facts about Epidemiologist: Only 57% of Epidemiologist work for the government, 12% work in hospitals, 11% in colleges and universities, and 9 % in the American Cancer Society. I was very surprised when I saw that only 12% of Epidemiologists work in hospitals.
